About

A field guide to where K-culture actually happens.

komaps maps the real Seoul, Busan, and beyond behind your favorite K-pop videos, K-dramas, and idol moments — written for fans flying in, not for locals reading Naver.

What we do

Three principles, one map.

01

Verified, not crowdsourced guesses

Each location is cross-checked against fan reports, official press kits, and on-the-ground photos before it goes live. We delete spots that lose access or close.

02

Translated for travelers

Every entry is written natively in English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese — not machine-translated from Korean. Train stations and walking notes included.

03

Free-licensed photography

Idol and drama imagery comes from Wikimedia Commons under CC-BY or CC-BY-SA, or from original shoots we have rights to. We never use fan-cam or paparazzi photos.

How it's built

Made small, on purpose.

komaps is run as a focused project — one builder, a few contributors, and slow growth. We add a handful of spots a week instead of scraping thousands. If you spot something wrong, the report button on every page goes straight to the maintainer.
